How to Measure

 
With a measuring tape and wearing close-fitting clothing, do not force a measurement by pulling the tape too tight, it should be relaxed against your body.


CHEST: Measure around the fullest part of your bust wearing a thin bra or no bra.
*This measurement is not the same as your bra size.

WAIST: Measure around the smallest part of your torso.

HIP: Measure around the widest part of your hips. Use a mirror, as it may be lower than where you think.

LENGTH: Measure from the C7 vertebra down through the spine to the top of your hip.

SLEEVE: Measure from the last bone of your shoulder to your wrist, remember to bend your elbow a bit.

INSEAM: The distance from the uppermost part of your thigh to your ankle.
Measure the inseam based on a well-fitting pair of pants. Measure from the crotch to the cuff on the inside seam of the leg.

WASHING YOUR GARMENTS

 

Our laundry habits play a significant contribution to climate change, energy consumption and environmental pollution. By shifting a few simple habits, we can minimize our impact on the earth, get the most life out of our garments.

• Wash your clothes only when necessary.
• Clothes can be sanitized and air freshened for more uses.
• When is time to wash, use PH neutral, free of toxins laundry detergent.
• Choose low impact packaging solutions for detergents to avoid plastic waste.

 

All our garments are machine washable with the exception of the Baby Alpaca sweater.

Water temperature - Wash your clothes using cold water only.

( 90% of the energy used by washing machines goes towards heating the water ) Washing your laundry in cold water will save energy and help preserve your clothes.

The detergent you use is what makes the difference in wash results, not the temperature of the water.

 

The use of acidic products ( vinegar, lemon… ) in your naturally dyed garment can alter the color of the garment.
Do not use bleach.
Do not use chemical products into your garment.
Do not expose your dyed garments to sunlight for long periods of time.
Our garments have been pre-washed, so when washed in cold water & air dried or tumble dried with no heat as we recommend, shrinkage won’t happen.

Lyocell 

 

Lyocell represents a milestone in the development of environmentally sustainable textiles. Lyocell is a natural, man made fibre. Made with wood pulp from sustainable tree farms, lyocell textiles are created through the use of nanotechnology in a closed-loop process that recovers or decomposes all solvents and emissions. It is 100% biodegradable.

Made from the natural cellulose found in wood pulp. The fiber is economical in its use of energy and natural resources. Has natural breathability and 50% greater moisture absorption than cotton. Due to its moisture management, lyocell is also anti-bacterial. Soft, lightweight ,breathable, and comfortable. Lyocell has an extremely smooth, soft surface that drapes beautifully. Great for sensitive skin.

 

Washing Instructions 

 

• Cold Water Only - Machine delicate cycle or hand wash.
• Air dry in the shade or tumble dry with no heat. 
• *If you use a dryer your garment will shrink.
• Iron at medium temperature or steam.

 

 

Hempcel®

 

A unique blend of hemp and lyocell, made with sustainable, renewable grown plant resources. SBP* Sustainable Biodegradable Product

 

Hemp is one of the strongest and most durable organic fibers available today, has a tensile strength three times bigger than cotton.

Hemp has been farmed since the beginning of agriculture, and that added longevity makes it an excellent choice when looking for reliable garments. The cultivation of hemp for the purposes of creating fabric has a fairly low environmental impact.

Silk 

 

Silk is a natural fiber produced by the silk moth Bombyx mori as a material for their nests and cocoons. This month eats mulberry leaves. Silkworms make cocoons out of one long strand of fiber, which means that a fully unraveled cocoon results in a single string of silk.

Made primarily of a protein called fibroin, silk is known for its shine and softness as a material. Silk is the strongest fabric made through natural processes.

Silk produces a shimmering optical effects due to the triangular prism-like structure of silk fibers. These prisms reflect light at various angles, which results in the subtle rainbow hue that silk has.

 

Our silk was handwoven by the Craft Resource Center, based in Kolkata, India. 

The CRC is a guaranteed Fair Trade Organization. Is a service provider generating income for vulnerable crafts people and securing them with sustainable development and improving their quality of life.

 Recycled Cotton 

 

We work with The New Denim Project for all our recycled cotton, they collect and sort post-industrial waste from local garment factories ( Guatemala ), grounding these scraps back into fiber, to spin these once again into new yarns to weave and up-cycle into our 12oz twill. 

The process is chemical-free, dye-free, and uses minimal water and energy.

The cottonseed and cotton lint, from their own leftover material from their up-cycling process, is passed on to coffee-growers, to use as compost to cultivate specialty coffee in the highlands of Guatemala. Up-cycling this waste back into production systems, making it a reusable and valuable resource, serving as food for new organisms. 

 

Recycled cotton is very durable, easy to wash, breathable, soft and quick-drying.

Baby Alpaca 

 

Its name refers to the hair growing in the lumbar part of the alpaca, the softest of the whole body. Alpaca wool is an exceptional fiber, suitable for sensitive skins, this is because it doesn’t contain lanolin, the main cause of irritation in wool. It also doesn’t capture or retain dust.Alpaca is soft , light and silky on the skin. The enchanting softness, is due to the fineness and the particularly smooth microscopic structure of its fibre.Baby alpaca is up to 7 times warmer than sheep's wool. The fibre, hollow and full of microscopic air pockets, acts as a true thermal regulator, adapting perfectly to both cold and mild temperatures. The ability to maintain the right warmth makes it suitable for all seasons and all temperatures.It doesn’t absorb moisture and repels water.

 

Washing Instructions 

 

• Cold Water Only hand wash.
• Air dry in the shade in a flat surface. 
• *If you use a dryer your garment will shrink and felt.
• My simple solution for quickly drying sweaters is to lay them flat on an absorbent bath towel.
• The towel wicks up a lot of the moisture preventing the sweater from sitting in a pool of water.
• Steam if needed

HOW TO TREAT A STAIN

 

 

  

Run stain under cold water as soon as possible so the stain doesn't settle ( without rubbing or soap )

Right after put in the washer for a delicate cycle

If you rub the garment to remove stain you will rub off color as well - if it's to late and you now have a lighter spot you can reach us out for re-dyeing service.

 

 

 

Mend your garment if it breaks. 
Re-dye your garment if color fades. 
Compost it when its life cycle has come to an end.
